8 years’ experience in combinatorial optimisation and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. Airts grew out of Alastair’s observation that great work in academia was not being used to its full potential in industry.
CEO & Co-Founder
A strong blend of technical and commercial skills with a 1st class Computer Science degree from St Andrews and seven years in the professional services sector with PwC and RBS. Working on Lean implementations inspired Andrew to explore how technology could take organisational efficiency to the next level.
Over 12 years’ commercial experience, most of which has been spent in software companies selling enterprise solutions. Richard loves working with organisations to improve operational efficiencies and prides himself on helping teams identify areas for improvement.
Simon relocated from Cambridge to join Airts. He brings over 20 years' experience across a full range of engineering and product leadership roles. Better known as The Agile Pirate, fighting for kindness, lightheartedness, and honesty. Ask him about his '90s music collection.
Andrew joined Airts to bolster the number of Andrews, but he also brings over 10 years' experience delivering FinTech software. In his spare time he loves orienteering and curling.
Dr Jakub Dostal
Jakub holds a PhD in Human Computer Interaction from the University of St Andrews. When it comes to design, usability or front-end coding, Jakub is the main man.
Senior Software Engineer
With nearly ten years of working with software, Adrian brings a wealth of development know-how. He also enjoys a good song, a good book, and one movie.
An accomplished Project Manager with over 10 years’ experience delivering projects within the technology sector and creative industries. Dan loves developing client relationships and leading an internal project team.
Dr Duncan Forgan
Duncan is our residential scientific genius, with a PhD in computational astrophysics. He’s applying his unique perspective to software development here at Airts, as well as educating in his podcast “The Science of Fiction”.
Business Development Manager
After a decade as an Investment Manager, Lauren switched her focus to help SMBs scale through new business growth and key account expansion. Lauren's all about building strong working relationships, and Chewie, her labradoodle.
After working as a an engineer in oil and gas, Pierre eventually made his way into software engineering to develop the tools that he was previously using. With a keen interest in artificial intelligence, he also loves music, sports, and all things outdoors.
With over six years’ experience within the 'Big Four', Martin brings a deep understanding of our clients' needs, and how to collaborate successfully with our stakeholders and developers alike. When he’s not in the office, he enjoys exploring Scotland’s landscape by foot and mountain bike.
As a proud CodeClan graduate, Andy brings his passion for problem solving and love of all things challenging to his development role at Airts. He also loves all sport.
Melissa has too-many-to-mention years' experience in marketing and product strategy, mostly in global B2B companies. She loves a good story, and sees her job as sharing Braid's amazing story to help complex organisations and the people who work for them redefine what's possible.
Jardine is a proud CodeClan alumnus, having pursued a career in software development after working in the Finance and Technology industries. Jardine is an accomplished camel farmer and world traveller.
Laura is a CodeClan graduate with an MA in Digital Media and Information Science. She is passionate about all things tech and, in line with her commitment to continuous learning, embraces an "I don't know that - YET!" philosophy. She loves doing anything that involves handiwork and is proud to be our first full-time female developer!
Keir has been into technology and programming from a young age, and is always learning new things. A recent graduate from Fife College with an HND in Software Development, he was part of the winning team of the prestigious KYOCERA KYOCodes competition.
Hannah provides a crucial link between our development team and key business stakeholders. Hannah lives for software implementations (evident through her years of consulting) and joined Airts to support our wonderful customers and highly talented developers!

Delphine is a CodeClan data graduate with over 10 years' experience in the biotechnology industry. She is passionate about statistics, and getting useful insight from data. In her spare time she enjoys everything circus, aerial trapeze, hoop and silks in particular.
Will joined Airts after completing CodeClan's intensive software development course in Edinburgh. Before moving into software development, Will was a copywriter - and he aims to apply a writer's attention to detail in his code!
Joining Airts with over seven years' experience in Operations across B2B tech and arts festivals, Inga is passionate about creating a great workplace and driving organisational growth. She enjoys bouldering and once upon a time was in a Harry Potter film.

Joe is the gatekeeper between Braid and the world. He ensures any code we write passes the most stringent QA tests. With a strong focus on test automation, Joe helps us maintain momentum without compromising quality.

Whilst studying for a BA in IT, Ieva found her calling in software testing. Now she keeps developers on their toes by digging through software and looking for anything that's not perfect (yet). She also tests her own limits by trying new things and maintaining a healthy lifestyle
Lu has been delivering practical user experiences through design for a decade. She is passionate about art and tech, and everything beautiful around her and on the web.
Andrew is passionate about AI and enjoys bringing its strengths into his code. He is a proud recipient of the ScotlandIS “Young Software Engineer of the Year” award, earned for the AI he developed to play Nine Men’s Morris.
Stu brings 10+ years’ experience in software development, departmental leadership, and project delivery management. He’s all about building strong relationships and quality processes that centre on the end user’s and business’s needs. Oh, and you might also find him on the wall at your local bouldering gym.
Graham is a highly-regarded IT consultant, non- executive director and technology investor. He has significant experience in strategic advisory and transformation engagements, including some time as CTO of the UN Int’l Computing Centre.
Paul has 11 years’ experience as a member of senior executive teams within Wood Mackenzie. He is well-versed in growing technology companies, business plan execution, and international expansion.
As the co-founder and current Chief Product Officer of FreeAgent, one of Scotland's most successful tech startups, Roan has over 12 years experience of implementing strategy, scaling operations and building a world-class product organisation.
